Examination

Physical Examination & Diagnosis

When a patient consults a chiropractor, the doctor first records the full history of illnes; carries out a physical examination and a full spinal examination which carefully examine the following:
  • joint mobility and muscle strength
  • integrity of the nervous system
  • general alignment of the spine and its related structures
  • if necessary, the chiropractor will use X-rays, MRI scans; laboratory procedures to verify the alignment of the bony structures and to rule out other underlying pathological conditions.
Chiropractic Adjustment

Chiropractic adjustment is a high velocity, low amplitude directional thrust done manually to correct subluxated joints. Restoration of the proper joint motion and the spinal alignment allows the adjacent muscle groups to function efficiently and effortlessly reducing tension and eases nervous irritation.

Adjunct Therapy

In the treatment process, some chiropractic physicians will use physiological procedures such as hot and cold compresses and electrotherapy to facilitate muscle relaxation; reduce inflammation and improve local circulation.

Prevention

Chiropractors strongly emphasize the importance of preventative health care to their patients. We also believe that good health should start in one's everyday life, paying attention to one's proper posture, adequate exercises and balance nutrition.
